Lip BLush Tattooing

Lip BLush Tattooing

Lip Blush also known as Aquarelle, Watercolour Lip Tattoo, Lip Tint. Lips are one of the most significant and expressive parts of the face. If the eyes are the mirror of our soul, the lips are the language of our body. We use our lips to talk, smile and kiss; sometimes they convey our emotions more than words. When women paint their lips, they unwittingly attract attention to them.

Lips become more expressive and sexier if lipstick colour, and in our case – permanent makeup pigment – is selected correctly. The wrong colour may visually add a few years, change the complexion for the worse or highlight insufficiently white teeth.

Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Essentially, it is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip colour, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness.

Colours are divided into three main groups:

  • Cold – pink shades
  • Warm – peach, orange, coral shades
  • Neutral – beige, brown, terracotta shades

• Apply the aftercare cream with freshly washed hands or a cotton tip. Use the cream sparingly, a thin application is better than a thick one. We don’t want to suffocate the lip.
• Blot off excess cream with a clean tissue. Never touch the procedure area without washing your hands immediately before.
• Lips may be swollen for several days. They will scab considerably.
• Ensure you keep lips continually hydrated with post-care cream for 7 days.
• Do not scrub, rub or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed before it is ready the pigment underneath can be pulled off.
• Avoid strenuous activity for 3 days.
• To avoid losing colour make sure you do not use whitening toothpaste for at least 1 week.
• Drink through a straw for 4 days.
• If cold sores appear or if you have a history of cold sores, please see a doctor ASAP for medication. (Acyclovir 200mg, 3 times a day for 5 days). Use Zovirax cold sore cream as well as Bepanthen if you are prone to cold sores.
• Lips will most likely feel dry for 4 to 8 weeks.
• Nurofen tablets may be taken after the procedure to help reduce swelling (not before the procedure). Consult your doctor.
• Avoid makeup, water, cleansers, and any other creams for 5 days on the treated area.
• During the healing process avoid saunas, steam, hot tubs, swimming, sunbeds, wind, and the sun.
• Lip tattoo will initially be up to 60% darker. It will take up to one week for this to settle. In most people, true colour can take 2 months.
• Swelling, redness and itching can occur afterwards. Please consult your doctor if this lasts more than 5 days or if anything unusual occurs. After 7 to 10 days the top layer of the skin peels off leaving a softer lighter colour. Itching may occur around the peeling stage.
• 2 weeks after your lip tattoo the colour may appear very light. The true colour will show through 4 to 8 weeks.
• A full touch up may be required within 6 to 8 weeks. It is normal for the tattoo to shrink or fade, so much that on some area that it seems to have disappeared. Do not be alarmed, it takes time for the skin to accept colour. Any required pigment will be added on the second treatment.
• If you have laser treatments near the lip area, please tell the operator that you have a lip cosmetic tattoo.
• If you had filler in your lips, the swelling may be more pronounced and last for up to 72 hours. Fillers may also affect how well the colour takes in your skin.
• You cannot donate blood for 6 months following any cosmetic tattoo procedure.

Lip Blush tattoo should typically last 24 to 60 months however this may vary depending on skin types and daily routine.
