Cosmetic Tattoo has been around since at least the 20th century, but maybe even longer. There’s even evidence that Queen Cleopatra of ancient Egypt had Cosmetic Tattoo.
Cosmetic Tattoo is a form of semi permanent makeup.
It is performed using a hand tool or machine to deposit pigment into the second layer of skin (dermis).
Microblading also known as ‘Feathering’ is a form of semi permanent makeup and performed specifically on the brow area.
Using a hand tool which has a unique formation of thin needles, it allows the artist to tattoo and create very fine-like brow hairs.
A pigment is then applied over to make your etchings pop!
A person should not Microblade their brows, more than 3 times in their lifetime, due to scar tissue.
Microblading is subject to fading overtime due to each individuals life style and daily activities, as well as the health of their skin.
Generally, Microblading procedures should last 9 to 18 months.
We recommend Cosmetic Tattooing should be done BEFORE you get Botox, so your muscles will be in a normal state of movement.
Alternatively, if you regularly use Botox, you will need to wait 4 weeks for the Botox to settle in at its full effect.
Individuals who have been taking acne medications such as Accutane or Retin-A within the last year have an altered skin condition that will not heal well after the procedure.
It’s very important that you wait a year before tattooing the skin.
Similarly, Retinol and Vitamin A users should discontinue the use of each a month prior to their procedure.
If you have a bleeding disorder, this will result in excess bleeding and prevent adequate colour deposit.
If you have an Autoimmune disorder such as Lupus or Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia, you will not be a good candidate for Cosmetic Tattoo due to your compromised skin health caused by these disorders.
Serious diseases such as Cancer, Epilepsy, Autoimmune, Heart Issues and Diabetes must obtain a doctor’s certificate of clearance for Cosmetic Tattoo.
If you are pregnant or nursing your baby it is absolutely NOT recommended that you get any form of Cosmetic Tattoo.
Cosmetic Tattoo is a mild injury to the skin which takes time to heal.
If you are planning to go to a summer destination involving sun, sweating and swimming, make sure you give your skin 2 weeks to heal post Cosmetic Tattoo, before showing off your new subtle transformation!
In Australia the legal age for any form of tattoo is 18+
After any facial chemical peels or laser you must wait 4 weeks to undergo Cosmetic Tattoo.
Other facials you should wait up to 2 weeks.
Powder brow is a form of semi permanent makeup and performed specifically on the brow area.
Using a machine an infinity of fine needles are swayed across the brow implanting pigment into the skin.
This look creates an airbrush look or a misting of colour.
This is a great technique for those who have oily or combination skin. Also best suited to those with mature ski
Results vary based on lifestyle, skin type, health etc
Generally, Powderbrow should last 2 to 3 year
Combination is a fantastic compromise between the two methods Microblading (hand tool) and Powderbrow (machine).
Hair strokes are generally placed at the front of the brow finished off with a gradual Powderbrow (airbrush) infill look.
Results vary based on lifestyle, skin type, health etc
Generally, Combination should last 10 months to 2 years.
Lip Blush also known as ‘Lip Tint, Aquarelle or Watercolour’.
Lip Blush is a form of semi permanent makeup and performed specifically on the full lip and vermillion border (lip line).
Lip Blush is also a great way to neutralise your lips if you have high melanin or dark colour lips.
This technique enhances the natural lip shape, provide symmetry, define lip contours and boost the natural colour to camouflage scars, paleness, or unevenness.
Using a machine tiny micro needles are swayed across the lip line and lips to deposit pigment of your desired colour.
Lip Blush is a beautiful way to tint your lips with a touch of colour. We can custom build a colour that appeals to you.
Lip Blush generally lasts up to 2-3 years.
You CANNOT donate blood for 6 months following any Cosmetic Tattoo procedure.
If you have filler in your lips, the swelling maybe more pronounced after Lip Blush, and can last for up to 72 hours.
Fillers may affect how well the colour takes in your skin.
I would suggest to have your Lip Blush Cosmetic Tattoo done first and then fillers.
Lip Blush + Fillers = Look great together!
If you have fillers first, you must wait 4 weeks for this to settle into your lips before Cosmetic Tattoo.
If Cold Sores appear or if you have a history of Cold Sores please see a doctor ASAP for medication. (Acyclovir 200mg, 3 times a day for 5 days). Use Zovirax Cold Sore cream as well as Bepanthen, if you are prone to Cold Sores.
As a protocol I suggest to start taking Cold Sore medication 3-5 days prior to the procedure.
*We strongly suggest talking to your GP.
Generally, Eye Liner Cosmetic Tattoo lasts 2-5 years.
Eye Liner is a form of semi permanent makeup and specifically performed on the lash line area.
Using a machine we carefully fill in the lash line using tiny micro needles implanting pigment to emphasise the eye.
